Education
Every American child deserves access to a good education. This should not be a liberal position, a conservative position, a republican position, or democratic position. This is a common sense position that is in the best interest of all Americans.

Factors such as, race, ethnicity, geographic location, or family wealth should not impede a students access to quality teachers and schools. Not every child will want to learn. Not every child will excel. But our education policy should encourage and ensure a path for a quiality education is available.

Both the Republicans and Democrats have good ideas in education reform, but too often special interest groups get in the way of such reform. In order to allow for growth and innovation, leaders must put the interests of students ahead of teachers unions, administrates and party politics. We must allow for more competition, multi metric performance pay, and more technology in the classroom. Innovation, competition, and quality teachers will be key elements to any reform.

Bottom line: Leaders on both sides of the aisle need to put our children first and stop protecting their favored groups. Competition should be allowed to take place as it will spur innovation. And we must find ways to attract and maintain the backbone of all quality education, good teachers.
